1960s Time Life Lobby Chair Herman Miller USA |
CHARLES + RAY EAMES   A superb vintage example of the Eames Lobby Chair, designed in 1960 for the lobby of New York's Time Life Building. This design gained international fame during the 1972 World Chess Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland, when American chess grand master Bobby Fischer insisted on using the chair, claiming it improved his concentration. During the series, his Russian opponent Boris Spassky refused to play until he received one too. This example is the low profile, premium version of the chair featuring supple black leather, castors, and both tilt and height adjustability. In all-original condition, signed with factory labels.
