Modern Love has been an advocate of cancer research and support services, holding an annual online auction of 20th Century design and decorative arts called 20thC. Held in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, a portion of each sale is donated to the cause. While helping generate vital funding for research, the each sale also helps promote educational materials on prevention, and help fund emotional support programs for those living with cancer during all phases of their illness, from diagnosis through treatment and surgery, and well into recovery.

Who is the Canadian Cancer Society?
The Society funds only the best research and is the only organization in Canada that funds research on all types of cancer. In addition to laboratory research, the Society provides funding for clinical trials, as well as behavioural research focused on prevention, early detection, cancer screening and quality of life issues.
The Society, through Cancer Information Service, cancer.ca, and a wide selection of publications, offers up-to-date, accessible and credible information that empowers people to make good decisions when it comes to their health. With at least 50 percent of cancers preventable, it is imperative that the Society provide people with information on how to reduce their risk of cancer.
As well, the Society offers emotional support programs tailored to meet the specific needs of people experiencing different types of cancer. Programs are offered free of charge, and support those living with cancer during all phases of their illness.
